HAM & CHEESE QUICHE RECIPE
WHY I ♥ IT
It's a healthy and easy alternative to the French quiche Lorraine (which uses bacon dices and cream). In this recipe, I will show you how to make a very tasty quiche, with less fats and plus, it's easier to digest.
INGREDIENTS
ALL SET? OK, NOW, THE STEPS !
STEP 1 : PREPARE THE DOUGH
- Make sure to wash and dry your hands first !
- In a large bowl, pour the flour and the sugar, then mix them together.
- Cut the butter into small pieces and add them to the mixture.
- Mix the butter and the flour with your fingers, lightly knead the dough.
- Slowly incorporate the water.
- You should be able to form a ball with the dough, once you achieve that, cover it up and keep it refrigerated for at least 20 minutes. You should have something that looks like this:
/ ! \ Don't knead too much, or the dough will gain more elasticity, which will affect the texture.
STEP 2 : QUICHE
- Preheat oven at 180°C (356 °F).
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and add the milk.
- Add a pinch of salt, pepper and cumin.
- Roll the dough and set it on a buttered mould. You can either butter the mould or put some parchment paper so that the dough doesn't stick to the mould.
- With a fork, prick the dough then add the sliced ham.
- Cover with the grated cheese.
- Bake at 180°C (356 °F) for 45 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy !
