A cosy weekend
From time to time, I really enjoy staying indoors, especially now that winter is approaching. It's such a wonderful feeling to release all the stress accumulated during the week and to just do some cocooning at home. In that case, I've gathered some of the best films to watch for such an occasion, along with some books you shouldn't miss.
Films to watch
- Bridget Jones' diary, British humor !
- Juno, heartwarming and funny, never fails to entertain me.
- The Hangover trilogy.
- Locke, for Tom Hardy's excellent performance.
- Magic in the moonlight, another witty Woody Allen film.
- The Shining, bonus when it's raining.
- A Star Wars or Harry Potter marathon.
- What's in a name? (original title: Le Prénom) a funny, delightful and compelling French comedy.
- Burn after reading, a Coen brothers' classic.
- What we do in the shadows, one of the funniest mockumentaries I've ever seen.
- In Bruges, the perfect dark comedy to watch while sipping on some hot chocolate.
Books to read
- Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen), a classic.
- The Zombie survival guide (Max Brooks), easy to read, fun and somehow quite instructive.
- Misery (Stephen King), simply a masterpiece.
- Bel-Ami (Guy de Maupassant), a poignant, fine and well written novel about the 19th century France.
You may now snuggle down with your blanket and enjoy some time to relax.
Until next time,
Until next time,
