My winter burden

What used to be my biggest burden during cold days? Changing my bedding. And no, I'm not talking about pillow cases or bed sheets (EZ!), I change them very frequently. Firstly, because hygiene. Secondly, because sleeping and rolling on fresh linens is one of the best feelings on earth. So no, right now, my topic for ranting today is about something else. It's something I know I needed to face. We've all been there and most of you will definitely know what I'm talking about...

Ladies (and gentlemen), I give you my arch nemesis...
The duvet cover
Is there anyone in this world who does not know about this kind of struggle? I often found myself dreading the moment I'd have to change my bedding. And when that moment came, the only word I had in mind was "nope".

So there I was, facing my naked duvet and its soon-to-be cover. Most of the time, I never really knew how or where to start.

Should I just throw it in and shake it? Surely it'll find the proper shape.
Perhaps I could crawl inside with the duvet and set it on the proper corners myself?

Then, I would sweat, grunt and curse after ten minutes. Once I thought I was done, there was always this empty side, a weird bump on the centre or even find the duvet completely twisted. Of course, none of those previous options worked for me. Countless times, I would find myself hopelessly crawling inside the covers. For years, I'd been struggling to find the right technique. Until one day, I stumbled upon an article on a French magazine. So I decided to try it.

Grab two corners of the duvet while inserting it in the cover.
On the open side of the cover, make sure that the corners of the duvet and the cover are properly matched.
Keep on holding... and shake!

And... it worked. No bumps, no twists, everything was neat. Even now, I still can't find my words to express the relief I'd felt. There are countless techniques of duvet-cover-changing, so no worries, one day, you'll find the perfect one for you. There is no other purpose for this article, just to express myself.

P.S: If all else fails, there's always a blanket.

Love,
